2008 Annual Auction
On Saturday April 19th, St. Andrew’s Housing Group raised more than $215,000 in an exciting night of competitive giving at the 15th Annual Benefit Auction and Dinner. Approximately 250 SAHG donors, staff, elected officials and community partners gathered at the Redmond Marriott to bid on fabulous items, connect with friends and support SAHG at its largest annual fundraiser.
Guests of the auction had an array of exciting items to bid on across four silent auction tables. The dinner was accompanied by an incredibly packed live auction that included such items as a Waikiki vacation, dinner at the Columbia Tower and a week at a Whistler condo. For the first time in auction history, a Wine Shop was featured at the auction. In an effort to have every component of the evening connected to SAHG, donors could purchase wine from the shop and the proceeds directly supported SAHG.
The captivating Special Appeal was led by long time SAHG supporter Dave Porter, who shared with the audience the astounding numbers that show how many individuals are in need of affordable housing in East King County. He touched on the lives of three particular SAHG residents who are now thriving due to affordable housing and reminded auction attendees of the incredible housing crisis occurring in their backyards. Attendees couldn’t help but lift their paddles to raise a remarkable $78,250 that went directly towards SAHG’s mission on the Eastside.
SAHG could not possibly continue our work without the dedication of our supporters. A big thank you to all who attended the auction, volunteered, donated and continue to support SAHG!
