Volunteer with SAHG!
Thank you for your interest in joining our team of 150 volunteers who dedicate countless hours of service each year to help St. Andrew's Housing Group (SAHG) provide hope and homes for our low-income neighbors.
There are numerous opportunities to get involved with SAHG and we hope that you will find something that matches your area of interest!
Volunteer Opportunities:
Gather a Group to HelpMany companies and organizations have taken on property beautification and resident life enhancement projects. We have worked with boy scouts, girl scouts, eagle scout projects, high school senior projects, university groups, company departments, and volunteer professional contractors to name but a few. Many of the opportunities listed below are open to individuals as well as groups. If you have a group looking for a volunteer project, please contact Megan Bryant at meganb@sahg.org or 425-576-5190 ext. 24.
Partner with Resident Services
- Sign-up to provide on-going assistance at after-school homework and activity clubs.
- Volunteer as a summer camp counselor! SAHG's two-week long summer camps take place three days a week between June and August.
- Help host a community building event at one of SAHG’s properties. Such events may include a property BBQ, movie nights, BINGO for Seniors, a craft day, talent shows, or yoga instructions.
- Hold a donation drive to collect items, including children’s books, games, cookbooks, arts and crafts supplies, gardening supplies, computer learning and other educational materials, and financial planning resources, for our Resident Services Program.
- Gather a group to help provide Holiday gifts for children living in our properties.
Support Property Improvements
- Spend a day working at one of SAHG’s properties doing yard work, property beautification, painting or other special projects.
- Adopt one of SAHG’s 10 properties and provide ongoing property maintenance and resident relations projects.
Help the Organization Grow
- Join one of SAHG's Board committees: Resident Services, Fund Development, Finance, Asset Management, Housing Development and Advocacy.
- Assist with administrative work around the office in various departments.
- Volunteer to help make our annual auction a success! To visit our current auction page, click here.
- Host a mini-event to educate your friends, family and co-workers about affordable housing.
- Host a small fundraiser such as a wine tasting, poker tournaments, or bowl-a-thon to raise support for St. Andrew's Housing Group.
Specific Positions:
We often have specific individual volunteer positions available. You can find any current postings on the United Way of King County website or on the VolunteerMatch website.
Unlisted Positions:
Many times we have talented or passionate individuals who would like to volunteer, but do not see a matching position listed. Often, positions are created if the volunteer's skills, interests, or resources match the needs of the organization. If you are interested in getting connected with SAHG but do not see a specific volunteer opportunity available, please fill out this form and e-mail it to Megan Bryant, Volunteer Coordinator at meganb@sahg.org.
